Ways to Give
The Annual Appeal is the lifeblood of St. Bernard. It is a significant part of our operating budget, and the foundation of all the good things that happen at St. Bernard Abbey and Prep.
Designated gifts give donors an opportunity to make a special gift to a specific program, project, item, or event. Please use the form below to make a designated gift for a specific intention. To discuss your gift, please contact Fr. Paschal, Director of Development at [email protected].
(Please note that only restricted donations should be made using the form below. All unrestricted gifts should be made to the Annual Appeal.)
Over 70½ with an IRA? New laws about QCDs (Qualified Charitable Distributions) allow tax-smart giving options. Gifts of appreciated stock are another well-known way to give.
Contact Fr. Paschal, Director of Development at [email protected] to discuss the many ways you might benefit from tax-advantaged gifts to St. Bernard.
Established in 2010, the Clairvaux Society is named after St. Bernard of Clairvaux, the famous eleventh-century French abbot and Doctor of the Church. The Clairvaux Society honors donors who aid St. Bernard through wills, planned gifts, and estate gifts. Funds generated through the Clairvaux Society are endowed, with earnings providing an important revenue source for long term support of our Abbey & School.
Members of the Society are invited to attend the annual Clairvaux Society Members Dinner. This annual celebration gives the St. Bernard community an opportunity to induct new members and honor Society members for their visionary leadership, philanthropy, and generosity.

Over the decades, the Abbey renovated many of the buildings on campus. The one thing that remained until now?
The monastery.
Built in 1963, architects judged the frame of the monastery to be in good shape. However, the interior was another matter. Deteriorating heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical systems, and more have created unsafe and unhealthy living conditions for the monks.
Thanks to the Anniversary Campaign, the monastery building is being refurbished so that the monks have a healthy home in which to live.
