Are you ready to experience the thrill of world-class barbecue competition? Do you want to taste some of the best grilled and smoked dishes in the region? If so, you won’t want to miss this. For the first time ever, St. Bernard is hosting the Kansas City BBQ Society at this year’s Bernard Blues & BBQ.
This exciting event will feature amateur cook teams from across the region, competing for cash prizes and bragging rights in a variety of categories, including chicken, ribs, and People’s Choice wings. The cookoff is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS), the world’s largest organization of barbecue and grilling enthusiasts. You will have the chance to learn from the experts, as they share their tips and tricks on how to prepare mouthwatering barbecue.

The 7th Annual Bernard Blues and BBQ is set for September 9th and 10th, 2023Â on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey and Prep School!
On Sunday at 4 p.m. St. Bernard will give away cash prizes totaling over $12,000! Bring the entire family for a weekend of fun on our 800+ acre campus! Hours for the event are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Admission is a $10 requested donation. Children under age 12 and under get in free. NO PETS, PLEASE! Festival guests can also tour our world-famous Ave Maria Grotto at a reduced admission of $5 all weekend.
